Holly’s Extremely Serious Satire Newspaper
Battle Alley Bugle is a satirical local newspaper for Holly, Michigan, reporting increasingly disproportionate civic developments with the calm professionalism they do not require.
What we publish
Our stories begin with recognizable small-town institutions, habits, debates, festivals, infrastructure, and public conduct, then follow them to their least avoidable absurd conclusion.
The publication is satire and parody, not straight news. Complete stories are published on the Battle Alley Bugle Facebook page; this website maintains the front page, archive, and editorial desks.
Our extremely serious editorial standards
Battle Alley Bugle is satire. We target public conduct, statements, policies, institutions, and public personas—not families, children, private lives, or personal information.
We do not publish private addresses, phone numbers, unverified allegations, or fake quotations that could reasonably be mistaken for real ones.
Factual mistakes will be corrected openly, because “it was satire” is not a magical spell that transforms a wrong date into performance art.
The newsroom lives on Facebook
Read complete stories, follow the page, and join the only local publication brave enough to admit that its headlines are made up before somebody shares one into a neighborhood group as breaking news.
