On September 2, the Battle Alley Bugle sent six questions to candidates seeking office in the Village of Holly. We intend to publish their answers and then allow the article to end.
Every candidate received the same questions, a suggested 100 words per answer and the same deadline: Monday, September 14 at 8 p.m.
The questions were intended to give residents a clear sense of each candidate’s priorities and approach to village government. There were no gotcha questions.
Beginning tomorrow, September 15th, we’ll publish the responses we received. Candidate responses will be posted in alphabetical order, by last name. Answers will appear as submitted, with only minor spelling, punctuation or formatting corrections where needed. We won’t rewrite anyone’s positions or add commentary to their answers.
If a candidate did not respond, we’ll say so. If a candidate said they planned to participate but did not submit answers by the deadline, we’ll note that too.
These posts will not include endorsements. The point is to give Holly residents the candidates’ own words and let readers decide what they think.
For the next few days, the Battle Alley Bugle will be attempting journalism.
Please bear with us.
