HOLLY — Staff at The Holly Post confirmed this week that they have successfully completed their fourth deadline of 2026, concluding what employees described as an exhausting year of occasionally needing to finish a newspaper.

The quarterly publication marked the occasion with the release of its Quarter 4 edition following what staff described as “a lot of late nights,” bringing an end to a punishing production schedule in which another deadline arrived approximately every 91 days.

“You finish one, catch your breath, and before you know it April is somehow July,” said one newsroom employee. “It never stops, except for most of the time.”

Editors said the final weeks before publication were particularly intense as stories, photographs and advertisements all had to be assembled before the deadline, a date the newsroom had been aware of since the previous deadline.

The paper will now enter its traditional 11-week recovery period, during which staff will distribute copies, gather material for the next edition and attempt not to think about January.

The first deadline of 2027 is already visible on the calendar.

Staff have turned the calendar toward the wall.
